[Jun 25, 2026] Marine Drone Tech Breaks Into Japan's Deep-Sea Fishing Market with AI Fish-Detecting
2026.07.13
Marine Drone Tech, a Busan-based marine tech startup, has signed its first supply contract with a Japanese shipping company for AI fish-detecting drones, marking a significant milestone in its global expansion.
The deal is particularly meaningful as Japan is recognized for its world-class competitiveness in marine equipment and fishing technology.
The company provides AI-powered drone solutions that efficiently identify fish school locations to boost fishing productivity.
Following local exhibitions and on-site technology verification in Japan, the contract was secured after demonstrating stable drone operation even in rough sea conditions.
Marine Drone Tech has also developed an "Automatic Vessel Landing System" enabling drones to autonomously land on vessels amid heavy waves, along with an integrated control platform that monitors multiple drones in real time.
Building on its entry into the Japanese market, the company continues to expand its global footprint across Taiwan and the Philippines.
